BEST EVER HARDWARE RANGE
16th December 2014

Composite door supplier, Solidor, continues to expand the range of options for it’s products and this includes the antique hardware range and latest Winkhaus AV2-B keyless entry system, among other developments.

Solidor has proven to be the fastest growing composite door manufacturer in the UK and the only one that can lay claim to be a true consumer facing brand, as their website and other marketing materials clearly show. The option of 17 colours inside and out is also supported by an incredible hardware range, with consumers offered keyless locking, traditional furniture and contemporary handles for the Italia Range, which have now been adopted by several other door companies. There is of course a vast range of more standardise hardware offerings, making for more door configurations than any other composite company in the UK.

The handmade traditional ironmongery range was launched back in 2012 with options of handles, knockers and letterplates in black and pewter and sales have seen a steady growth, following the similar and complementary handle options for PVCu windows. Most impressive of all is the 5” ring door knocker, which makes use of Solidor’s solid timber core based slabs and due to it’s weight cannot be readily fitted on to lightweight foam filled GRP doors. The handle range includes Gothic, Monkeytail, Tudor, Narrow Twist and Avon options with a matching letter plate.

Eager to work with like minded companies, Solidor was a launch partner with Winkhaus for their new patented blueMatic AV2-B battery operated automatic multi-point locking system. Customers have already commented on the fact that it’s the first keyless solution for composite doors for the mass market, as it’s already based on the proven Winkhaus automatic AV2 Lock.

Gareth Mobley, CEO of Solidor Group comments: ‘It’s important for us and our customers, that we expand the options for our solid core composite doors which are in fact bespoke, with each one manufactured from a solid timber slab here in the UK. Consumers want choice in terms of colours, but also handles, letterplates and even keyless locking in exactly the same way as we enjoy in our vehicles.’
