Spectus helps Vision for eco-homes project
Supported workshop and Spectus fabricator Vision Products is helping develop 33 dwellings in Penydarren, Wales, as part of an Eco-Homes project. Beginning in May this year, Vision has been fabricating and installing Spectus casement and reversible windows into the timber framed and cladded buildings. Colours range from natural wood to green, and even orange with white rendering!
This particular project is part of a four year £4 million framework agreement Vision has with DEVCO (a consortium of four housing associations). The contract is a Welsh Assembly grant aided project that was negotiated by Spectus on behalf of Vision. The Welsh Assembly specified energy efficient projects throughout the build and the project aims to achieve an Eco-Homes rating, due to be confirmed later in the year.
“The technical team at Spectus had to provide us with calculations and extra support,” explains Cheryl Williams, PVC Manager, Vision Products. “Spectus’ technical and commercial sales teams also help Vision develop and remain competitive within both the domestic and commercial markets. We couldn’t ask for more from a supplier.”
Vision Products is a supported workshop, employing 145 disabled people from the local community, 21 of whom work in the PVC-U department.
