freefoamFreefoam acquires Chemix mixing plant

Leading roofline and rainwater manufacturer Freefoam has announced further significant investment in its business with the acquisition of the Chemix mixing plant in Stockport, Cheshire . The plant consists of a wide range of state-of-the-art mixing and compounding equipment, together with associated laboratory and maintenance equipment.

“The mixing plant provides Freefoam with access to high quality and cost effective raw materials,” explains Commercial Director Aidan Harte. “It not only meets our current needs but also our future requirements. In addition, the technology and knowledge acquired by Chemix over the years in co-operation with Freefoam will be consolidated in Freefoam’s operations and will enhance its capability to develop the next generation of PVC raw materials.”

Start-up of mixing operations is currently being organised on the Chemix site. While it is likely that ultimately the equipment will be transferred to Freefoam’s site in Northampton, no definite plans have been announced.
