Broadening Out
Leading South West home improvement specialist, Europlas, took the decision 18 months ago to add Sarnafil Roof Assured to its portfolio and since then sales of the flat roofing system have grown strongly.
In the 1980’s we had the double glazing companies, then they broadened out into conservatories and now we are seeing companies such as Europlas evolve into home improvement specialists by adding other complementary products such as flat roofing. By both promoting the Sarnafil Roof Assured product through five showrooms across the South West and in attending regional shows using the free standing product model, the company has been able to generate substantial interest from prospective customers in an interactive and tangible way.
By using the considerable expertise within Europlas, the company has been able to quickly embrace the Sarnafil Roof Assured product and bringing with it some consistent and considerable sales. The market for flat roofing is estimated at 5m homes for the installation of roofs on garages, extensions, porches, bay windows and even Orangeries. The product is also equally applicable for refurbishment work and for newly built elements of the home and is used alongside upgraded thermal insulation that helps reduce the carbon footprint of the home and with it lower energy costs.
Jim Short, general manager of Europlas comments: “We’ve had considerable success with the Sarnafil Roof Assured product and it has made a very positive contribution to our business. The overall business package including training and marketing support has really set a benchmark in the trade sector. Its everything anyone could need for adopting a successful new product.”
