Access Control awareness is vital
14th October 2014

David Joseph, who is a Project Manager at Winkhaus recently completed the Paxton Electronic Access Control Training Course. Paxton are leading providers of training courses related to accessing buildings and David enrolled on the course to further his knowledge of access control, in order to become Winkhaus’ in-house expert.

Electronic access control is an evolved process for entering a building and is used for many applications across a number of commercial and residential settings. Installation of an access control system reduces the requirement for keys and traditional locking methods.

It works by tokens, cards or finger prints being issued to allow access through controlled doors, with entrants easily barred from the system if their access tools are lost or stolen.

David Joseph has worked for Winkhaus for over 14 years and as well as completing this recent course is also a member of the Master Locksmiths Association and Guild of Architectural Ironmongery and competent with other Access Control Solutions.

Winkhaus supported David to become a qualified locksmith and he is now viewed as Winkhaus' expert in the field of access control.

He comments: “Winkhaus' innovative autoLock range, which includes the AV2-E & AV2-B, requires this level of knowledge and expertise and we are striving to lead in this field of advanced locking so we can equip current and future customers with the knowledge required to sell this type of advanced security.

“I can now pass on this knowledge to any of our customers as well as any companies that require information or training around access control. It is a broad field, with many systems in operation and may options for the end-user. I’m delighted to have passed this course and equipped myself with this high level of expertise.”

Winkhaus is currently celebrating 160 years of being in business.
