Three new first aid qualifications
14th June 2016
The British Safety Council has launched two new first aid qualifications for workplace personnel:
Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work, designed for individuals wishing to act as an emergency first aider in their workplace and is typically delivered over a one-day session.
Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work. Developed for individuals wishing to act as a first aider in their workplace, this qualification is usually delivered over three days.
The British Safety Council is the only UK regulated Awarding Organisation to offer a complete suite of health and safety qualifications from Entry Level to Level 6 in the Qualifications and Credit Framework. Its qualifications are delivered by over 700 Approved Centres in the UK and abroad. The three new qualifications complement the existing British Safety Council’s course portfolio.
Mike Robinson, Chief Executive of the British Safety Council, said: “Knowing how to administer basic first aid is a vital skill in a survival situation where professional medical help may not be available. The specific first aid requirements may vary depending on the workplace and educational establishments, which is reflected by the training modules developed using our extensive experience. We hope that they will give first aiders the skills to act in emergency situations and trainers the confidence to source educational material from the most trusted source.”
