Online calculator

A new website at www.rehauanswers.com provides free and unlimited access to an online WER and U-values calculator from Rehau.

The website has been developed to provide a reliable and continually updated solution for fabricators and installers looking to respond to the requirements of Part L with self declaration of window performance.

Users click on the calculation type they require and they are then taken through a simple route to achieve either an indicative WER rating for windows or a U-value for windows or doors.

Using the BRE 443 standard window, it is possible to calculate a WER rating or a U-value as required. Alternatively, there are a further five window style and three door style options for U-value calculations, each of which allows users to input their chosen dimensions up to Rehau’s maximum recommended sizes.

Once the calculation process is complete, users can preview their result and make any necessary changes before saving that calculation and clicking to download and print either a graphic displaying the WER result or a U-value report.

Dean Franklin, applications engineer responsible for WERs at Rehau, said: “We have deliberately created a calculator with a user friendly step-by-step interface but with a very powerful calculation tool which uses accurate, regularly updated data, certified to the relevant standards.

“Users can be completely confident that, if they enter the information correctly about their individual window or door system, frame and sash, reinforcement, glazing and spacer bar, then they will receive a fast and, above all, accurate calculation.”

The calculator has been produced for Rehau’s S706, Rehau Edge and Rehau Tritec systems and is available for general use by any fabricator or installer without password restrictions.
