Emergency entry training
14th January 2020
SHELFORCE opened its doors to the West Midlands Fire Service to help its firefighters with emergency door and window entry training.
Watch Commander Steven Whitworth, pictured, said of the initiative: “This training is essential. Shelforce provide doors and windows to a large number of properties across the West Midlands, so the opportunity to train with these has been invaluable to our teams.”
Shelforce business manager Howard Trotter said: “It was brilliant to be able to assist West Midlands Fire Service – they provide a vital service and do a wonderful job.”
Shelforce, with a predominantly disabled workforce, has been involved in a number of local authority building projects including, most recently, Birmingham Council’s first-ever ‘ModPod’ and a revamp of a 20-storey tower block in Aston to help homeless families.
