With Bostik’s Hot Melt Butyl (HMB) sealants still the biggest sellers, the company is proud to lay claim to being the UK market leader in insulating glass (IG) edge sealants.
Its class-leading HMB sealants are used widely across the whole of the IG sector and are considered the benchmark products for consistency, quality and flow characteristics for both manual and automated applications.
Considerable investment has firmly established Bostik’s UK operation as a global centre of excellence for the firm’s insulating glass business, and all IG HMB sealants are developed, manufactured and managed for the global IG market from the UK.
Supported by the technical and commercial expertise of the global centre of excellence, many of the sealants form the foundation for sealed unit manufacturers’ submissions for certification to the highest standards such as the increasingly demanded EN 1279 Pt3. Pre-testing offered by Bostik to such standards is just one of the value-added support services that maintain Bostik’s HMB sealant ‘biggest seller’ status.
Geoff Jackson, General Sales Manager for Bostik’s Construction Division, commented: “With a range of products that have been engineered to perform consistently and with the ideal performance characteristics demanded by the IG sector, it’s not surprising that sales have been good. Of course, the continued growth in sales of our HMB range is due in no small part to the wide package of support and technical services we offer which adds genuine value to our offering.”
