Origin Find Easi in the Corner
14th February 2012

Adventurous homeowners are behind a 12-fold surge in sales of corner post sets for Origin’s Easifold folding sliding doors.

Sales of the bespoke system broke all records running up to Christmas and customer services manager David Ginger is putting that down to architects whose growing adventurous spirit is being matched by equally adventurous and affluent clients.

Origin has manufactured both 90º and 135º (bay) moving corner post sets for more than two years and sales have climbed steadily since then but 2011 saw an explosion in their popularity as more and more people chose to improve their homes rather than move in the current economic climate.

“Corner post sets have proved extremely popular over the past 12 months and we are currently producing 12 times that we did when we started,” said David. “Architects are getting very adventurous and structural engineers are rising to their challenge.”

The corner post sets are available in a wide variety of configurations and are designed and manufactured in the UK to the same exacting standards as standard Easifold door sets which, under Origin’s “Your lead time, not ours,” scheme, are available exactly when required and with a 20-year guarantee.

The Easifold range now also outperforms current British Building Regulations. Thermal improvements mean the range now features U-values of 1.3W/(m²K), outperforming the Part L requirements of 1.7W/(m²K) by an impressive margin.

Easifold’s unique free-glide running system uses near-frictionless, maintenance-free needle roller bearings encased in tough Acetal and concealed within the bottom track to ensure ease of operation, even when backed into a corner!

Easifold doors feature elegant ultra-slim sight lines, can be designed to open in to or out of a room and fold to the left or right, and are complemented by a range of colour-coded or stainless steel ergonomic lever handles

Fitted with finger-safe gaskets as standard and internally beaded, the lead doors have an eight-point locking mechanism that conforms to police Secured By Design standards and an anti-drill barrel, while every slave door features shoot bolt locking.

In addition to these security measures, the thermally-broken Easifold door is also severe weather tested by the BFRC to EN ISO 10077 – 2 and achieved the highest category rating of ‘1200 special’.
