Scottish Minister welcomes double investors in people success

Fabricator CMS has been commended by a Scottish jobs minister for becoming one of the first firms to gain a double award from Investors in People Scotland.
Roseanna Cunningham MSP, welcomed its achievement in securing both the Investors in People Gold standard and Investors in Young People (IIYP) accreditation.
Roseanna Cunningham MSP said during a recent visit: “I am very pleased that CMS has joined the swelling ranks of organisations investing in young people. In having a strong focus on creating employment and training opportunities, the company is showing the rest of the business community how people investment and developing a young workforce play such an important role in a long term, sustainable business strategy.”
CMS Managing Director Andy Kerr added: “Both awards reflect our focus on investing in employees to achieve exceptional results and create a culture where staff are properly equipped, recognised and rewarded. As the awards demonstrate, this spans right across CMS at all levels covering everything from apprenticeships and the quality of inductions for new starters, right through to vocational qualifications and long term career development.
Employing more than 200 people at its, CMS manufactures and installs doors, windows and facades, 15-acre HQ and production site in Castlecary, North Lanarkshire, as well as being an external wall insulation (EWI) installer. It is one of only seven companies in Scotland to achieve this double Investors in People accolade.
Roseanna Cunningham is the Scottish Parliament’s Cabinet Secretary for Fair Work, Skills and Training.
