Listers is making its move

The first call of the day for hundreds of Stoke-based window, door, conservatory and roofline installers will no longer involve a battle with the Leek Road traffic. On May 5, Listers opens its new, purpose-built trade counter in its 70,000ft2 site in Govan Road, Fenton.

Mark Warren, managing director, said: “Leek Road has served us well for 17 years, but not only have we outgrown it, our customers have too.”

When Listers opened the site in 1992 there was plenty of parking space, and traffic levels meant getting in and out were no problem. “Nowadays we’re serving dozens of customers every day. Every morning sees the car park packed with installers’ vans, and with around 5,000 lines on sale, we’re running out of space behind the counter as well as in front of it,” Mark said.

The new larger site on Govan Road, Fenton, has parking space for over 30 vehicles. A glass front is under construction, and the customer trade area has clear access and space for growth. A new multimedia point-of-sale system will keep visitors informed and entertained, and – one thing that won’t change – there are plenty of bacon rolls and hot drinks.
