Leaders from across Scotland’s architectural, building, housing and local authority sectors gathered at the CMS WINDOW SYSTEMS Innovation Hub to discuss how best to create sustainable homes and communities of the future.
More than 60 delegates heard from a number of speakers representing organisations including BRE Scotland, RTPI Scotland and Barnardo’s. Topics ranged from changes in public policy to the evolution and innovation in design, the development of new materials, the creation of jobs and apprenticeships within new communities.
Andy Kerr, MD of CMS Window Systems said: “We’re really pleased to have been able to host Sustainable Building 2016 and to welcome such an influential group of decision-makers to the Innovation Hub. These kind of forums are absolutely vital to keep up the momentum for change and keep us on track for improving the quality of our housing stock and public buildings. What’s reassuring is that the solutions are here today, as we can demonstrate, well ahead of standards and legislation for those who want to stay at the forefront of sustainable construction.”
