The newcomer that’s got Safestyle worried
13th March 2018
When Safestyle UK issued a Trading Update to the Stock Market a couple of weeks ago, it included the statement: “The activities of an aggressive new market entrant have added to an already competitive landscape and impacted the Group in certain areas of its operations.
Meanwhile, SafeGlaze UK, the trading name of Niamac Developments Ltd, says on its website as part of a Q&A: “Our competitors are scared and so they should be.”
The newcomer also makes several references to distancing itself from any connection with Safestyle except that its registered office – formerly a London address – is now down the road from its rival in Bradford, West Yorkshire.
Among the files for Niamac Developments Ltd at Companies House, Miss Aarti Rani Misra – believed to be the daughter of Mitu Misra, the original founder of Safestyle – is listed as having been appointed as company secretary on February 16.
SafeGlaze has also launched a TV advertising campaign starring Pam StClements – Eastenders’ Pat Butcher - in a production with more than an echo of Safestyle’s memorable Jeff Brown ‘BOGOF’ TV adverts of a couple of years ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kfNM4Tqq8Z4
Mitu Misra, who floated Safestyle on the Stock Exchange in 2013, went on to make his name in movies as writer and director of ‘Lies We Tell’ which premiered last month in London’s Leicester Square with stars including Gabriel Byrne and Harvey Keitel.
The Glazine contacted SafeGlaze via its website for any further information on the company and has yet to have a reply.
