Buoyant UK construction and property sector behind record sales
13th January 2015

Cotswold Architectural Products have seen sales of its Parallel Opening Hinge increase by 40% in the last year, with the product being specified for a wide-range of commercial projects across the UK and internationally.

And with growth expected to continue across the construction industry, Cotswold’s Sales and Marketing Director Tim Ferkin is confident of further increases in sales.
Tim comments: “Demand for our range of Parallel stays has been increasing month on month and it was a key product for us in 2014. This has definitely been influenced by an upturn in the construction sector, with more new offices and new build activity on the up.

“Cotswold has also benefited from its status as the UK’s biggest and only friction stay only manufacturer. We don’t see it as a commodity product so the quality of steel is second to none and we build bespoke solutions for fabricators around their production processes; to help them speed up manufacturing.”

JLL and Glenigan’s latest UK commercial Construction Activity Index recently demonstrated the growth in the commercial sector stating that non-residential new build activity is increasing rapidly, with the value of new starts over the year to Q3 in 2014 amounting to £12.5bn - up 5.4% on the year to Q2.

The report also said that the building products industry remains in a strong position going into 2015 and a 10 % growth in new project starts in 2014 is matching pre-recession levels and there has been a 4% rise in non-residential starts, with privately financed sectors faring better than those backed by the public sector.

The company’s Parallel stay is manufacture from high-grade Austenitic stainless steel for maximum performance; and can be operated manually or using electric actuators.
