Pilkington has unveiled a brand new addition to its popular Pilkington Suncool™ range to help meet the changes to the Part L of the Building Regulations in 2010.

Pilkington Suncool™ 70/35 offers benefits in both summer and winter due to its combined low solar heat gain and low emissivity energy-efficient properties. This dual capability helps to reduce energy consumed in cooling and heating the building with only one type of glass, and therefore meet the upcoming changes to Part L.

Pilkington Suncool™ 70/35 can be specified for any situation where excessive solar heat gain and heat losses are an issue, from conservatories and glazed roofs to offices and commercial building facades and atria, in both new build and refurbishment projects.

The popular Pilkington Suncool™ range has also been given a revamp with the introduction of new product names to make it even easier to specify the product in line with the ever nearing changes to Part L.

The name changes were confirmed after extensive consultation with architects, specifiers, installers and technical experts, and Pilkington is pleased to confirm the new product names as follows:

Michael Metcalfe, Commercial IGU Sales Manager, Pilkington Building Products UK said: “Changes to Part L of the Building Regulations in 2010 means architects will be required to specify energy efficient glazing suitable for commercial buildings. It is important everyone understands the products and their capabilities, which is why we have made it easier to identify and differentiate between products.”
