Could you be a TrustMark ‘glazing’ director?

TrustMark, the Government endorsed quality scheme, is looking for a new director from the glazing industry to help the newly relaunched consumer body to take ‘the next big step’ in its plans.

Two Board vacancies are coming up, one of which will be for a ‘trade’ director as part of its policy of equal balance of trade and consumer representation.

TrustMark chairman Liz Male said the body is looking for “visionary and determined leaders to join the Board to shape its exciting future.”

“After a transformation of several years which has radically improved TrustMark, its governance, operations and relationships, we are ready to make the next big step in our plans.”

TrustMark was relaunched by the Consumer Minister last year with an updated set of Government Endorsed Standards which cover good trading practices, customer service and technical competence.

The Chairman continued: “This year we see the introduction of important new consumer protection legislation, and the opportunity to support the new Government in its work to empower homeowners and grow the success of responsible businesses. There’s never been a better time to be at the helm of a scheme like this.”

TrustMark always ensures an equal balance between trade and non-trade interests on the Board. Directors, elected for a three year term, receive a small annual remuneration and meet about six times a year. In addition they attend Forum meetings – about four a year – and may also get involved in working groups or other areas of the business as required.

A ‘non-trade’ director is also being sought with insight and experience in consumer empowerment and consumer protection policy.
