CDM seminars announced
12th May 2015

TENNYSON SUITE, the health and safety consultant, has announced its programme of seminars to educate and inform industry professionals about the recent Construction Design Management (CDM) changes. The seminars explore the new legislation, and draw attention to the new CDM rules being the most significant change in the construction industry for 20 years.

The seminars are being delivered throughout April and May to a number of leading institutions and construction bodies including the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM), Chartered Institute of Building (Sussex Branch), Construction Excellence (South Coast) and Local Authority Building Control.

John Lawrence, Health and Safety Director at Tennyson Suite comments: “The construction industry remains one of the highest risk sectors in which to work - with unacceptable safety standards, particularly on smaller sites. The CDM Regulations, which came into force in April 2015, aim to ensure that health and safety is properly considered during a project’s development. Ensuring that the new regulations are well understood by all those within the construction industry is paramount and so we are delighted to be assisting by offering an insight into the rules in a practical context.

“We followed the CDM changes through their draft legislative format, and the consultancy stages so have an excellent understanding of their purpose. Our experience of working with a range of companies – from small entities to large government organisations - means we are aware of the impact that the new legislation will have, and how it will apply to projects at all levels.”
