HURST SUPPORTS ‘THE NATIONAL SELF-BUILD AND RENOVATION CENTRE’
12th June 2012

Composite doorset manufacturer, Hurst Plastics has agreed a new twelve-month deal with the NSBRC (National Self-Build and Renovation Centre), to sponsor one of its life-size building exhibits.

The Yorkshire based organisation agreed to support the NSBRC exhibit, which is a life-sized model of a renovated house, by supplying a made-to-measure composite door. In addition, the company has also supplied an interactive touch-screen monitor, which allows visitors design their own doors styles.

Mark Atkinson, Sales and Marketing Director, Hurst Plastics, comments: “Figures suggest that over 20,000 people annual build their own homes and many more carry out their own renovation projects.

“The NSBR Centre offers important advice for this market by providing first-class visual guidance and general support. We feel that it is important for Hurst Plastics to show our support to this initiative and help heighten public awareness through providing quality products.”

The NSBRC opened in January 2007. It was set-up to help educate people interested in self-building and renovating, and to ensure that people who are actively building can access the services and material required.

Visitors to the 67,000sq ft centre are able to learn about the different stages and techniques involved in taking on a self-build or renovation project. Six-life sized cut away exhibits are on show, in addition to the ‘Build Centre House’ which is full of sustainable technologies, and a wide range of advice from the team of on-site experts.

David Murphy, general manager at the NSBRC said: “We are very pleased to have Hurst Plastics as an exhibitor at the Centre as we feel it will be of great benefit to the thousands of self builders and home improvers that visit us each year. Their composite doorsets have been referred to the peak of quality, which reflects the values of the NSBRC.”
