Cool contract

PILKINGTON UNITED KINGDOM LIMITED has signed a new contract with Howells Patent Glazing, manufacturer of glazing roof lights and canopies, following the launch of its new solar control product, Pilkington Suncool One 60/40.

Pilkington Suncool One 60/40 is an off-line coated, mid-range solar control product with a thermal insulation U-value of 1.0 W/m²K, designed for use in commercial and high-end residential settings.

Howells sales director Gary Howells said: “We were really excited when they brought out the new Pilkington Suncool product. Solar controlled glass that lets in the maximum amount of light possible is something our customers have been calling out for. With many other products on the market, the tint needed on the glass interrupts the amount of natural light entering the building. This new addition to the Pilkington Suncool range resolves this issue.”

As the entry level product to the full range, Pilkington Suncool One combines low-e properties with medium solar control performance. This makes it the ideal solution for smaller commercial projects, or those with flexible specification requirements, and in premium residential properties – for example, in bifold doors or as side wall glass in conservatories.
