How to recycle PVC with Veka Recycling
12th August 2014

Waste management and window companies can find dependable outlets for their waste PVC with industry leader Veka Recycling, which returns to the Recycling & Waste Management (RWM) show for the fifth year running this September.

Quality will again be a key focus for the Kent-based company; both in terms of material input and the services it offers to customers. It recently opened a second recycling centre in the Midlands, further expanding its PVC collection and processing capabilities services in the UK.

The new Veka Recycling Centre in Birmingham adds a further weighbridge, processing and storage facilities for post-industrial and post-consumer PVC window frame material to Veka Recycling’s established business.

All material is processed to a high standard of purity and is available as both pellet and micronised (pulver) for use in new goods, such as PVC-U windows and other plastic building products.

“We are looking for and providing material from PVC windows. As we want to make a quality product from recycled PVC, it is important that the input material has to match,” says Simon Scholes, Business Administration Manager.

“Clean input material contributes to a higher value product at the end of the recycling process and we want to see old frames going back into new products,” continues Simon, who will join colleagues on Stand 4J30-K31 at RWM 2014 from September 16 to 18.

Veka Recycling accepts any de-glazed post-consumer frames at its two centres, with more planned throughout the UK in the future. The company is part of the Veka Recycling Group, which has more than 20 years’ PVC recycling experience with processing facilities in three European countries.

Simon adds: “PVC can be recycled many times without losing performance and it makes sound economic and environmental sense to recover and reuse this resource in new products. By developing long-term working relationships with our customers, they can be assured of a reliable partner that is here to stay.

“RWM is the ideal opportunity to meet our existing and potential customers face-to-face; we look forward to catching up with you at the show.”
