Sapa has announced the launch of Anolok, the name given to anodised aluminium extrusion which comes from a brand-new, ‘state of the art’ processing facility at the company’s Cheltenham plant.
Anodising is an electrolytic oxidation process in which the surface layer of metal is altered so that it can provide added protective, decorative or functional properties when compared with raw material. The scope of use of anodised aluminium extrusions range from automotive applications, architectural applications and street furniture, through to consumer electronics.
Sapa is the world’s leading manufacturer of aluminium extrusion and has strong and essential relationships in all areas of industry. Extrusion, finishing, cutting and fabrication including welding, assembly and CNC machining are just some of the in-house facilities that the business can offer.
Sapa’s global experience of handling and processing a large range of extruded profile sizes coupled with a technical knowledge bank means that the company is ideally placed to undertake this quality-critical, complex process.
A spokesman for Sapa Profiles UK said;
“The investment in a new anodising at our Gloucester plant is further indication of Sapa’s determination to be the supplier of choice for aluminium extrusion in the UK”
“Anolok is an important development for the business and its implementation has been driven, in part, by our customers, many of which have been asking for a reliable source of supply - so who better to provide that capability than the profile extruder?”
Sapa Profiles has produced of a sample wallet (free upon request) which includes 10 examples of anodised aluminium that are representative of the various shades of Anolok that are available.
