MORE GARDENROOM DEVELOPMENTS
12th August 2014

Prefix Systems have made further developments to their tiled GardenRoom roof which addresses many of the issues with other tiled conservatory roof solutions, including a new insulated box section eaves beam, a new co-extruded PVCu soaker and more tile and slate options than ever before.

GardenRoom is the latest generation of tiled conservatory roofs and is becoming increasingly popular both for new installations and for conservatory replacement projects. It’s also helping to close the gap between the typical conservatory and single storey extension markets as Prefix customers look to open up new sales opportunities.

The new 115mm x 70mm insulated box section eaves beam, is just one of a number of enhancements to the solid warm roof, which is now insulated on the front face to eliminate cold bridging and any risk of condensation. It’s also been designed to accommodate multiple pitch variations, has better spanning capabilities, allows for a neater fascia detail, enables an optional pelmet detail to be created for lighting and is easier and quicker for the installer on site.

A new co-extruded PVCu soaker has been introduced that features flipper gaskets at key points to push any water ingress in the correct direction for drainage. It’s in one continuous length, lighter in weight and like the new eaves beam is easier and quicker for the installer on site

There are also new Envirotile colour finishes that have just been launched which include Chestnut Brown, Terracotta Red and Slate (light) Grey, along with matching hip and ridge cappings, which are supplied in one continuous section for speed if installation. The ‘Tapco’ finish tile is also available in the new colours and is becoming increasingly popular with installers and consumers looking to match existing slate roofs, with the rugged edges designed to replicate a hewn slate tile finish to blend perfectly with it’s surroundings.

Chris Baron and Chris Cooke, co-directors at Prefix Systems commented:: ‘These are important enhancements to our GardenRoom roof and are part of an on-going research and development process. Our customers are telling us that they believe our tiled conservatory roof solution is now their preferred choice due to ease of installation and these latest and important key features.’
