The new offices of Harrogate Borough Council in North Yorkshire were built using a mix of timber and aluminium based on Hybrid windows, doors and curtain wall from SENIOR ARCHITECTURAL SYSTEMS.
Located within a wooded conservation area in the spa town, the new civic centre has allowed the council to consolidate its facilities in one single-site location. Designed by architects Farrell and Clark, and installed by Frostree Ltd for main contractor Harry Fairclough, energy-efficiency was a key requirement of the new build project and Senior says the Hybrid timber aluminium system provided a low maintenance solution that complements the natural beauty of the site.
Senior’s Hybrid doors, curtain walling and windows combine aluminium externally with the environmental and aesthetic benefits of timber internally. The external aluminium can be powder-coated in any RAL colour whilst the attractive internal timber is available in a range of wood types and finishes.
