FREE Green Deal information and support for SMEs in London

Energy Saving Trust is offering a package of free support to prepare SMEs in London for the upcoming Green Deal and Energy Company Obligation (ECO). This forms part of the Institute for Sustainability’s FLASH programme, which is helping London-based SMEs seize the commercial opportunities arising from the growing low carbon economy.
Through FLASH, which is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), Energy Saving Trust will offer SMEs an understanding of the Green Deal and ECO opportunities specific to London, knowledge of what certification is required and the opportunity to meet with key players in the market. This support will be delivered through a series of three workshops where SMEs will learn more about how to take advantage of these emerging opportunities.
Ian Hutchcroft, Head of South at Energy Saving Trust, said: “The Green Deal and ECO can provide the opportunity and finance for energy efficient measures to be installed widely in homes across the UK. With our package of support, we aim to provide London based SMEs with the information they need to take advantage of this emerging opportunity, help grow the UK’s low carbon economy and more importantly, help consumers make carbon and financial savings on their energy bills.”
Stella Okeahialam, Programme Director at the Institute for Sustainability said: “Government incentive schemes such as the Green Deal and ECO could present a major prospect for SMEs in the built environment and related sectors so it is essential that they have access to the latest information on emerging business and new markets. We look forward to working with the Energy Saving Trust to support businesses across the capital”.
