Trains and planes – but mainly trains

When a hotel serving one of the UK’s busiest airports called for help with noise issues, it was not aircraft that were the problem but the neighbouring railway line.
The job, at the Clayton Hotel at Machester Airport, went to CHEADLE GLASS and fabricator GLAZERITE, with 80 double glazed windows in Veka M70 with acoustic glass to the back of the hotel, which overlooks the rail lines, in a design to match existing windows at the front.
Karl Minter, Cheadle’s commercial sales manager explained: “The acoustic glass, combined with the frame quality and how well the units were sealed and fitted, meant we were able to provide a soundproof solution for the client and block out the noise of the trains. Dalata, the Irish company that owns the chain, tested and measured the results, and were delighted with the outcome.”
Glazerite sales manager Pete Smith added: “We’ve got a great relationship with Cheadle Glass. Working closely with our installers means we are able to provide exactly what they need, when they need it, unique to whatever the install requires.”
Dalata has now approached Cheadle to work with them on further installations across the UK.
