Floor-to-ceiling fire resistance
11th February 2020
A project to refurbish an open plan, first floor kitchen and dining space within a Victorian residential property in Notting Hill has used the PROMAT Systemglas Celare fire resistant glazing system to balance aesthetics with passive fire protection.
A floor-to-ceiling glazing element with a butt-jointed corner, specified with a 30-minute (EI30) fire rating, was an integral part of the project. With its fire resistant Promatect H framing set into the surrounding floor, walls and ceiling to give a frameless effect, Systemglas Celare enabled the architect to achieve the aesthetic and performance goals.
Ian Cowley, regional director (UK and Scandinavia) said: “This refurbishment project in Notting Hill is a fantastic development with a high-quality interior an open plan layout, due to a visionary approach by the architects and owner.”
