Sash UK revives customer panel

Veka fabricator Sash UK recently held an installer round table at its offices in Grimethorpe, Yorkshire, as part of an ongoing exercise to improve communication up and down the window supply chain, the revival of what used to be a regular feature in the company’s marketing calendar.

Sash UK took the opportunity to run some new ideas past the installers at the meeting. For example, the company has invested in a new online ordering facility that is operable from anywhere, so that installers can get an immediate quote for their customers. The details are held online so that installers can return to the quote at any point to make alterations before submitting the final order – it also gives homeowners the opportunity to look at different combinations of styles before they settle on their favourite.

Jon Harper, Sash UK’s marketing manager, showed how the company could assist installers in designing websites and other marketing literature, a key issue as the world moves deeper into the digital, online age. There was also an opportunity to unveil the new generation of bump and snap resistant locks, which will be included as standard on all new Sash UK composite doors.

David Ruzicka, Sash UK’s joint managing director, said: “It’s important that while we develop new ideas and products that we involve our customers,” said David. “We want to get it right first time, every time, which is why we make it our priority to listen to what our customers have to say.

“Furthermore, we have to be open to the fact that things can go wrong, Firstly, we must apologise if we are at fault, then look at the reasons why we got it wrong. It may be that it wasn’t our fault, but we need to make sure that any problems are communicated directly to the installer – we have even got someone on the factory floor who is responsible for just that.”
