Cool down and clean up
Pilkington’s high performance glass, Pilkington Activ Suncool, which brings together the self-cleaning properties of Pilkington Activ and the solar control properties of Pilkington Suncool, has added two new performance features to the glazing range.
With the new additions, Pilkington Activ Suncool 66/33 and Pilkington Activ Suncool 50/25, all Pilkington Suncool products are now available with self-cleaning properties.
Pilkington’s high performance glass, Pilkington Activ Suncool, was used on the iconic Havila building in Norway.
Supplied as an Insulating Glass Unit, Pilkington Activ Suncool uses the self-cleaning coating Pilkington Activ on the external surface of the front pane of the glass, and the high performance Pilkington Suncool coating for the internal surface. Pilkington Activ Suncool is also available in a range of performances and appearances to suit a wide variety of applications.
Phil Savage, commercial contracts sales manager, Pilkington, said: “Pilkington Suncool is suitable for almost any commercial application, it offers various levels of light transmission, solar radiation and alternative colours for the ultimate in design freedom. The additional benefit of Pilkington Activ is proving particularly useful in situations where cleaning would be difficult or costly. All existing Pilkington Suncool products are now available with the added benefit of self-cleaning performance and we are proud to offer the most comprehensive portfolio of self-cleaning, solar control products on the market.”
