Sheerframe fabricator and installer Radway has completed a major window and curtain walling replacement programme at Kenmore Park School in Kenton, Harrow, transforming the school environment in a large-scale refurbishment project.

Radway was awarded this contract after a successful tender bid, won in part on the strength of the fenestration contractor’s previous experience with Harrow council, having completed window replacement programmes at several other local schools. The result is a much improved learning environment with a more comfortable and stable temperature inside the building, enhanced ventilation, plus better acoustics and aesthetics.

The design challenges were substantial with curtain walling structural advice coming from the Sheerframe design support department. Important consideration was also given to the fenestration style to ensure it looked in keeping with the existing architecture.

Sheerframe 7000 system top hung casement windows were installed at Kenmore Park School replacing single glaze steel pivot windows with several elevations requiring curtain walling. These windows offer a long term solution which requires little or no maintenance over an expected service life of at least 35 years and, like all Sheerframe pvc windows, they are all completely calcium organic stabilised and free of lead additives.
