Still strong in pvcu

Elumatec has delivered two pvcu machines to Veka fabricator, Dorset-based Heavers of Bridport, the multi-award winning fabricator.

Heavers is a very busy retail fabricator, with some trade custom, which sees up-to-date machinery as vital to the long-term success of the business. Malcolm Heaver, managing director of the company, said: “We believe in quality rather than quantity, which is reflected in our winning the Network Veka customer satisfaction award an unprecedented nine times. Upgrading and updating your machinery is vital to that ongoing success – if you don’t invest, you cannot properly compete.”

Elumatec is widely known for its aluminium machinery in this country, but remains a major supplier of pvcu machinery, backed by expertise from its German parent company. Elumatec pvcu machinery has a loyal following of fabricators, encouraged by the fact that the machinery is in effect ‘over-engineered’, because the engineering design standards to which they are made are for aluminium.

Heavers bought a DG142 E555 electronic double mitre saw, which is ideal for high volume production. Two profiles can be cut simultaneously, optimised cutting lists are down loaded from the office software via USB stick or the machine can be Net worked.

Heavers also bought a VR-44 Trickle Vent Router which can produce a set of four slots in under 20 seconds. It has four motors two at the front and two at the back so in one operation can produce four slots in a frame or sash. Once the profile is clamped it is an automatic operation, it comes with a self centring device to assist in lining up the slots.
