Wigan-based fabricator M&M WINDOWS is claiming a first, having achieved PAS 24 on Veka's new M70 PVC-U profile system, and has immediately attributed two commercial contract wins to its ability to offer the accreditation.
The company partnered with hardware supplier Era and glass suppliers Regency Glass to put its casement windows through rigorous testing to ensure they met the requirements of PAS 24 and Document Q.
MD Mike McCoy said: “We are very committed to quality and that's why we chose to fabricate Veka's PVC-U profile exclusively when we were established in 2004. We've now switched over to the new M70 profile and we are highly impressed with the product as well as how smoothly the transition was managed.
“We put our windows through testing with Era and we were pleased to report that they easily achieved the PAS 24 certification and met the requirements of Document Q.
“This led to us winning two significant projects, almost immediately because our products met every requirement on the specification list, from safety and security, to product style and price.”
M&M Windows provided 80 Veka M70 casement windows in grey out/white in, as well as eight doors for new houses replacing former semi-detached plots in Stockport, as well as 100 casement windows with specialist acoustic glass for a Rowlinson Construction development on nearby Burnage Lane.
