Smoke barrier update
11th April 2017

VETROTECH SAINT-GOBAIN has launched an update to its Pyroswiss Smoke Barrier System (SBS) glazing solution.

Vetrotech has made a number of improvements to the product, which has various uses including smoke reservoir boundary, channeling screens, corridor containment, and escalator and elevator containment. Pyroswiss SBS consists of toughened fire resistant safety glass with a choice of two fixings; Eco, a steel fixing or Design, a stainless steel fixing.

As well as now providing Pyroswiss SBS in larger dimensions (up to 2500 x 1800 mm), with both landscape and portrait size options,  it includes two holes and fittings per panel for a faster and cost effective installation. Improvements also incorporate the addition of a new unexpected glass breakage protection ‘Safe’ film option which prevents the glass from scattering if shattered.

Pyroswiss SBS is now available in two classifications; DH 30 and DH 120 with a total of four product options; DH 30, DH 30 SAFE, D 120 and D 120 Safe.

Kirk Ratzel, Marketing & Sales Director said: “The improvements that we have made to Pyroswiss SBS will help to maximise the safety of building occupants at the same time as enabling architects to realise their ambitious visions for projects by providing a high level fire safety glass on a much larger scale than before and with faster and easier installation options to reduce overheads.”
