Industry figures take part in
Parliamentary Review
10th October 2017

Senior industry figures joined Chancellor Philip Hammond, Business Secretary Greg Clark and other MPs and economic commentators in the House of Commons last week to take part in The Parliamentary Review.

The review is organised annually by government to assess the state of parliament and the economy; and a select handful of representatives from industry are invited to attend, to provide their input.

Among them were Jerry Webb and Mike Davis, chairman and MD of aluminium fabricator CDW Systems, who highlighted the evolving role of aluminium in the industry.

Jerry Webb said of the event: “Only a handful of companies across the UK are selected to take part each year and to receive this level of recognition is a reward for what we have achieved as a team in the manufacturing and services sector.”

Mike Davis added: “In our feedback, we have taken the opportunity to look back on the challenges we, as a business, have overcome in the last 25 years whilst also explaining how we intend to continue our growth in the future.”

A magazine is published alongside the event with a foreword from the Prime Minister and other MPs as well as a feature on each company invited to attend.

Former cabinet minister and current Chairman of the Review, Eric Pickles, said of the Review: “It has never been more important for government to hear the views of business and the public sector in a constructive forum. It is also a vital time to share best practice and progress.

The Review’s director Daniel Yossman added: ‘CDW Systems Limited and other hardworking organisations from across the country have come together to make this year’s Review possible. Sharing knowledge and insight with both peers and government is essential work and I am delighted that this year’s Review will reach every corner of the British economy.”
