AB Glass wins notable contracts

After winning notable contracts totalling over £2.5 million in the first quarter of 2016, AB GLASS, the Swansea-based aluminium manufacturing and installation company, has secured two additional contracts to add almost a further £1 million to the order book.

The company has been contracted to fit windows, doors and curtain walling at the Brougham Hayes, Bath project, which will see 104 student studio apartments developed on the former council transport depot less than a mile from Bath city centre. Watkins Jones Group is the main developer for the site and the contract is worth over £340,000 to AB Glass.

AB Glass has also been asked to manufacture and install more windows, doors and curtain walling, again for Watkins Jones Group, for phase two of the Morfa Road development in Swansea. Staff at the company have already worked on the student accommodation site in 2014, which saw the installation of windows, doors and curtain walling for phase one. This contract is worth over £400,000 to AB Glass.

Nigel Harvey, operations director for AB Glass, said: "These are two further projects that Watkins Jones has offered to us which once again strengthens our already solid relationship with the developers. Both of these builds highlight the continuing need for student accommodation across the UK, not only for future students but also to help with the economy, which has been steadily improving over the last few years. The team are already working on the design process and we look forward to being on site in the coming weeks."
