‘The Oracle’ enters fifth decade of service

Dave Burns, affectionately known as ‘The Oracle’ is celebrating 41 years of service at in the technical department of hardware supplier Cotswold.
Dave is part of a team that supplies high quality aluminium friction stays and hardware for numerous high-profile commercial projects across the globe, as well as hardware solutions, such as friction stays, to the trade, working with architects and well-known glazing industry names such as Safestyle, Dempsey Dyer and Polyframe, to create bespoke solutions.
“What I love about Cotswold is that the company is always thinking ahead,” said Dave.
The research and development we are investing in at the moment is for powered products and automation, which represent the future for hardware and doors. Consumers want powered products that are concealed and we will be world leaders in this area.
“Looking forward, we will be opening windows and doors via our mobile phones and opening and locking buildings via an iPad. It’s exciting to think what my colleagues here will be working on in forty years. One thing I know is that whatever the customer is looking for, Cotswold will offer the solution.”
In the last year Cotswold has invested thousands in a factory refurbishment, employed new members of staff in its engineering and R&D facility, launched innovative new products and invested in expertise and machinery to position itself as cutting-edge UK manufacturers for the next 41 years.
