Glass at the Cutting Edge– the Ravenscroft Innovation Lecture 2015
10th February 2015

Independent research and development, consultancy and testing facility, Glass Technology Services Ltd (GTS), is proud to be speaking at the forthcoming Ravenscroft Innovation Lecture 2015 – highlighting the exciting innovation, research and development currently underway in the field of glass science.

In his forthcoming lecture, Rob Ireson, Innovation Team Leader at Glass Technology Services Ltd, will highlight how glass has shaped the way we currently live before opening the audience’s eyes to see how the potential of glass to transform the future is truly astonishing. For example, did you know that glass:

• can repair broken bones?
• underpins the energy generation that powers your life?
• is at the heart of our communication and computing?
• is in your toothpaste and heals sensitive teeth?
• can help you to hit your golf ball further?
• adds the sparkle to lip-stick, nail polish and a whole range of paints?!

Taking fundamental glass chemistry and a little blue-sky thinking, Rob will explore how glass-based technologies might transform the way we live and interact with the world as scientific capabilities and funding start to unravel the mysteries locked within.

The Ravenscroft Innovation Lecture is organised by the Master of the Worshipful Company of Glass Sellers of London, one of the City’s ancient Livery companies, and is sponsored by Bryan Cave LLP and Glass Technology Services Ltd. To be held at the beautiful glass offices of Bryan Cave LLP on 18 February 2015, the evening lecture commences with a drinks reception and tickets are available to all interested parties.

Tickets for the 2015 Ravenscroft Innovation Lecture, which are available to all interested parties, can be purchased at £25 through Eventbrite - please visit www.glass-ts.com/ravenscroft.
