Safestyle Manufacturing and Logistics has scooped its second major Health and Safety Award of 2008. Following on from the International Safety Award presented by the British Safety Council, Safestyle has now scooped the prestigious honour of “Best Improvement in Safety for 2008” from the Industry’s own Glass and Glazing Federation. The Awards held recently in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire were a fitting tribute for Safestyle UK, the country’s leading independent retailer and manufacturer of energy-efficient PVCu replacement doors and windows. The company has proved yet again that it has implemented excellent safety policies, plans and maintains an on-going commitment to health and safety at the highest level. Peter Mansell, Team Leader and Health & Safety representative at Safestyle received the award from Judith Hackett, Chairperson of the HSE. With over a thousand members, the Glass and Glazing Federation provide support and advice on all industry related issues but in particular Health and Safety. It is committed to an on-going campaign to encourage the UK’s leading companies to develop safer systems at work. Quick to point out the importance of this Award, Safestyle UK’s Chairman John Ross commented: “The benefits effective health, safety and environmental management bring to any business are enormous and this latest Award is wonderful recognition for the great effort everyone has put into our overall safety program at our Wombwell plant. However this is not just any other Award, it is part of a continuous improvement programme that sees Health and Safety as our number one priority as we continue to protect our biggest asset, which is our people.” |
