DISTRIBUTION AGREEMENT DELIGHTS

Avocet Hardware says its recent distribution deal with Duffells will “delight mobile locksmiths and installers alike”.

The addition of Duffells, one of the UKs leading distributors of locks, as an Avocet distributor, means that minimum orders on its ABS snap-secure locks are no longer required and that any orders placed prior to 6pm will be delivered the very next day. Furthermore, the partnership will lead to free delivery on all orders over £100.

Raymond Pearce, Avocet’s head of sales for its ABS range, said: “No matter how good your product, your marketing or your sales team, everything is reliant on distribution. Good distribution can make a company, while bad distribution will quickly ruin reputations”

“Ever since the Jain family rescued Avocet in 2012 everything has been geared towards returning the company to the pinnacle of the market and cementing its position there.”

In order to achieve this, the Jain family have invested heavily in Avocet, in particular in stock levels and warehouse facilities, while seeking to strike up distribution deals that strengthen its penetration across the UK.

“Securing a long term partnership with Duffells has been a priority since day one and we are looking forward to working together to ensure our distribution differentiates us from the competition in the same way that the quality of our ABS snap-secure lock already does,” added Raymond.

Initially, the distribution partnership will see Duffells stock and sell Avocet’s ABS snap-secure lock, which is the only retrofit product on the UK market that meets both BSI’s TS007 3-star rating and Sold Secures SS312 Diamond accreditation.

Alex Kuness, a director at Duffells, added: “This is a great partnership for us. ABS is proven to be the best retrofit Euro cylinder lock on the market, and when you combine that with the levels of stock Avocet has available I am certain demand will be huge – especially when you consider so many other manufacturers are struggling to get stock in.”
