6 out of 10 consumers want to see a sample window according to the extensive research carried out for Swish Window and Door Systems.

“It’s a lot higher than we expected,” says Jon Skinner, Joint Managing Director for Swish Window and Door Systems. “Anecdotally we’re told that only 20 percent of installers in the industry take samples in with them, so this was much higher than we had been expecting.”

Swish Window and Door Systems worked alongside a research specialist to carry out an extensive programme with a combination of in-depth interviewing, focus groups and high volume research to show trends. Investing in the research is part of our commitment to supporting Swish authorised installers.

“Seeing really is believing,” Jon adds. “It’s not just samples, homeowners are placing more importance on showrooms with nearly half saying they want to visit one before making their decision to buy. And 47 percent of respondents said they wanted to see pictures in a catalogue or on a website.

“The results from the research have given us an insight into how consumers have changed their buying behaviour and how that impacts on buying windows and doors. Knowing exactly what consumers are looking for means Swish Window and Door Systems can offer the best information to them. Over the next few months we’ll be adding new features to make it even easier for consumers to buy windows and doors through Swish authorised installers.”
