BetweenGlassBlinds units have passed the BS EN 1634-1 internal door fire resistance test.
The integral shading and privacy glass unit suplier put its double glazed integrated blind units to the fire test, in both 44mm and 54mm timber doorsets, to achieve FD30 standards. Both doorsets, and critically, BetweenGlassBlinds integrated glass units passed. The furnace was turned off after 45 minutes with IGU units completely intact.
Director Mark Nash said: “This internal fire door test is an important addition to our range of accreditations. Fire door compartmentalisation is so important in public sector and commercial buildings, especially in care homes and hospitals, where those vital extra minutes give staff and fire crews time to get patients and residents out to safety.
“Many of these medical and care home facilities also need to have internal doors with glass for natural light and observation but need the option of privacy for occupants. This means that BetweenGlassBlinds brings the best of both worlds for public sector and commercial projects. Internal doors, with glass units that offer shading and privacy are now available with this fire safety certification.”
