G20 postponed amid ongoing Covid uncertainty
9th June 2020

G-Awards organisers today announced that the planned 2020 event has had to be postponed until next year in the face of continuing pressure from Covid-19 and the ongoing lockdown.

Tony Higgin, founder and organiser, said the scale of a 600-seater event – the biggest of its kind in the industry – along with the complex process of professional independent judging meant that it would be the right choice to put it back in order to return at full scale next year.

He added: “Quite apart from the uncertainty over the immediate future, many companies big and small will still be badly bruised by the effects of the lockdown for some time, and will have many more distractions in life than putting in the time and effort to prepare a submission.”

The event, originally intended for Friday, November 27th at the London Hilton on Park Lane, will now take place on the equivalent November 26th 2021 at the same venue. Tony continued: “We only came to the decision after extensive discussions with various members of the industry and similar events. We are disappointed of course but feel this is the only way to do justice to what has become such a major event in the industry calendar.

“We will now be more than ready to raise the roof and celebrate the very best in our industry in the way that only the G-Awards can.”
