‘First conservatory window and door glass’
9th June 2015

CLAYTON GLASS has launched Smartglass-W, said to be the industry’s first glass specifically designed for conservatory doors and windows, alongside its existing Smartglass conservatory roof glass range.

Smartglass-W typically offers 240% more solar control than standard glass, and is said to offer is almost three times better heat retention, while Smartglass-W Plus+ provides enhanced security and acoustics, and blocks out 98% of the sun’s harmful UV rays, which can fade fabrics such as soft furnishings. Smartglass-W Ultimate offers all these features along with a self-clean coating.

Commercial Director Jason McCabe said: “Even ‘A’ rated windows fall considerable short in the performance tables to Smartglass-W and the increase in cost is marginal in relative terms. We believe that with as much glazed area in the vertical plane as in the horizontal (roof) plane, the future in conservatories is for a total solar control solution from floor to roof.”
