Jon Skinner, a glazing industry veteran of over 40 years, most recently as Commercial Director of Epwin Window Systems, died on December 29, age 63, after a time of ill health.
Jon began his career as an apprentice with BKL Alloys and soon found himself working in one of its newly-formed companies, Scope Aluminium.
Over the following years, he worked with some of the industry leaders and helped to build some highly recognised brands in the industry as well as making some life-long friends.
He has also chaired the marketing committee of the British Plastics Federation Windows Group, working to promote the industry and the benefits of its products. Friends and colleagues say that, with his infectious enthusiasm, energy and product knowledge, he was always available to help colleagues and customers. He continued in his role at Epwin Window Systems until ill health prevented him.
He leaves a widow, Lynette and sons Luke and Brett.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at Cookhill Village Hall, Alcester B49 5JS on Thursday, January 18 at 12.30pm, followed by refreshments at Redditch Golf Club B97 5PJ. The family has requested family flowers only but donations may be sent to Doctors Without Borders and Acorns Children's Hospice.
