Conversion rates improve with Focus
9th December 2014

Windowlink, creators of design, sales and pricing software for the window and door industry, have recently delivered a bespoke project for Abbey Windows, a major installer with operations throughout Reading, Wokingham, Henley and the Thames Valley.

With almost 30 years’ experience in carrying out installations of the highest quality, Abbey Windows were looking to improve the front end sales presentations, and increase conversion rates. They opted for Focus, Windowlink’s specialist software aimed at installers wanting to do just that.
Thanks to further customisation carried out by the Windowlink experts, Abbey Windows’ sales people are now able to design, price up and quote customers with all the details before leaving their homes.

Abbey Windows’ commercial director, Andy Young, said: “We wanted a strategy for our customer-facing staff that would help them improve the sales experience as well as conversion rates. As opposed to off-the-shelve software systems, Windowlink’s Focus was customised to show exactly the products we are offering, saving time and money on staff training, and eliminating mistakes. If we don’t offer a certain colour or style, these will simply not appear in the list of choices.”

A few members of the staff are already using the software with great feedback from the homeowners. Andy commented: “Without exception, all our customers are very impressed with the clarity of information and the level of detail we are offering during our consultations. They also appreciate being able to work with us to change and view options instantly. One of the biggest shifts we’ve noticed is that homeowners question much less the prices we are quoting and are less likely to push for a lower cost.

“Our clients are now able to see exactly what they’re buying, so the chances of installing a product they weren’t expecting are gone. The software helps increase customer confidence dramatically, particularly with larger orders, when homeowners usually show even more restraint”, added Andy.

Windowlink’s Mark Dudley, commented on the project: “We delivered a totally bespoke software, customised to Abbey Windows’ exact portfolio and prices, as well as their specific needs. Focus can be used straight out of the box, but we can also modify it to provide a fully integrated solution that will really help companies maximise their sales potential.”

The result has surpassed all expectations, as Andy explains: “We’re now looking at doubling the number of users, due to the amazing feedback we’ve had from both customers and staff. The customised Focus installation is one of the best investments we’ve done for our business and I truly believe it’s going to take us ahead of our competitors.”  Further improvements and cost savings were made by automatic reports created for survey, sale commission and fitting costs, replacing a process which was previously performed manually.

Mark concluded: “Following on from this bespoke installation, we’ve been asked by Abbey Windows to implement a tailored version of our Vector software for conservatories and orangeries as well. The software will be introduced in February, and we’ll offer a full training programme to ensure that our conservatory design, sales and pricing programme delivers the same results as seen from Focus.”
