The UK Commission for People and Skills, the body responsible for Investors in People - the UK’s premier people management standard - has awarded Schueco UK Limited, IIP Gold Status.
Achieving the prestigious Gold status further enhances Schueco’s reputation as a highly successful, well-run company that achieves ambitious business goals while being totally committed to the well-being of its staff.
The company became an accredited IIP organisation in 2010 and achieved Silver Status in 2012. Staff interviewed as part of the Gold Status Award process were representative of the company’s entire structure and included a wide range of levels, roles and responsibilities.
The many months of research, feedback, surveys, discussions and analysis of results involved in preparing for IIP Gold as well as the active engagement with staff, required the commitment and dedication of the whole Schueco HR team.
Schueco’s IIP ‘storyboard’ ran to 220 pages of detailed information covering 196 evidence criteria across the 10 key topics: Business Strategy; L&D Strategy; People Management Strategy; Leadership & Management Strategy; Management Effectiveness; Reward & Recognition; Involvement & Empowerment; Learning & Development; Performance Management; Continuous Improvement.
The HR team also compiled two folders of additional written evidence in the form of appendices for the assessor to review and use throughout the process.
Managing Director Mike Lane sums up: ‘Investing in people is central to our culture, values and success. I believe our new leadership development programmes and our innovation teams for project managers, coupled with our desire to empower and involve staff across the whole business, show why we’ve been awarded this prestigious accolade.’
