Roof windows are thriving on the back of conservatory market
9th December 2014

Lightweight solid roof systems for conservatories have gained substantial momentum since being introduced on the market a few years ago. Their popularity has opened up a series of opportunities for builders and installers to further increase their margins by offering additional related products, according to LB Roof Windows.

With their promise to deliver all year-round usability of the conservatory, solid roof systems have achieved strong commercial success both in the replacement market, as well as the new build sector. The last couple of years have proved these systems live up to the expectations, creating a new market for additional products along the way.

Adrian Cooper, sales director of LB Roof Windows, explains: “Solid roof systems have great insulating properties compared to the glass or polycarbonate roofs, keeping the heating bills down during the cold months. But they also require very good ventilation to maintain a cool, pleasant temperature in the summer. One stylish way of achieving this is by fitting Roof Windows which, in combination with the vertical units, offer an optimum level of ventilation, even in south-facing conservatories.”

He added: “Homeowners still want their conservatory to serve the purpose for which they were built – to allow maximum levels of natural light in and to offer beautiful views of the garden and sky. Not only do Roof Windows enable this, while perfectly complimenting solid roof systems, but, thanks to their high energy performances, there’s no heat loss during winters either.”
