Annual meeting for Heads of The VEKA Group takes place in Burnley

Heads of the global arms of multinational PVC-U window manufacturer, The VEKA Group, came together in the UK this week for the company's annual General Managers Meeting.

The 14-strong party met at The VEKA UK Group's Burnley HQ, being treated to a tour of its £5m state-of-the-art mixing plant before adjourning to discuss worldwide Group updates and examples of best practice.

The VEKA Group, a family-owned German company, first established its UK presence, VEKA plc, back in 1986, concurrently expanding throughout other areas of the globe to now boast 25 subsidiaries over 3 continents with around 5,000 employees. The company is one of the world's leading PVC-U systems suppliers, working with around 2,200 specialist window, door and conservatory businesses globally, and has a turnover of over €1 billion.

Group Chairman, Mr Hartleif was present alongside his wife, Mrs Hartleif – an Executive Board member and daughter of The VEKA Group founder. Other delegates came from the UK, Russia and the Ukraine, Poland, France and Spain, North and South America, and China as well as the head of VEKA Recycling – responsible for the development of the company's pioneering Infinity product that combines virgin profile performance with recycled materials.

The meeting wasn't all work, with The VEKA UK Group inviting delegates and their partners to join them in London for a sightseeing tour of the capital before returning to their respective nations and businesses.

MD of The VEKA UK Group, Dave Jones commented: “The GMM is a great opportunity to share what's going on within the global VEKA family, especially for the host nation. Many of the attendees had only seen the Burnley mixing plant in photos since its official opening by Business Secretary, Vince Cable, last year. It was our first chance, too, to demonstrate our most recent product innovations, such as our Imagine range of flush-finish Bi-Fold and French Doors – now on display in our brand new showroom.

“The meeting was a great success and allowed the team to further develop business relationships and friendships. It was fantastic to be able to show the latest developments here at The VEKA UK Group as well as sharing the sights of our beautiful country.”
