Obituary: Jon Glenister
9th April 2019
The industry this week heard with sadness of the death of Jon Glenister, co-founder of Windows Active magazine after a long battle with cancer.
Tony Higgin, publisher of The Glazine, writes in personal tribute to him: “I knew Jon for most of his time at both Window Industries and Windows Active, and enjoyed numerous social gatherings, at trade shows and industry events with him.
“He always had a story to tell whether it was industry related or personal, most of which were humorous, sometimes scarcely believable, and nearly all largely unprintable.
“He was well liked and respected among his peers and customers, and was the perfect partner for John and Steve when they left to set up Windows Active. Much of Windows Active’s success was due in no small part to him.
“I was able to see him a month or so ago for a drink or two, when he seemed well within himself, so his sudden demise came as a complete shock.
He will be missed.”
Jon’s funeral will be held on Monday (April 15) at 10.15a.m. at Breakspear Crematorium, Breakspear Road, Ruislip HA4 7SJ, followed by drinks at Moor Park Golf Club, Rickmansworth, WD3 1QN.
