£1m International Convention Centre Wales contract
8th August 2017

DUDLEY’S ALUMINIUM has secured a £1million contract with Sisk Contractors to help support the construction of the new £83million International Convention Centre Wales part of a 50/50 joint venture by the Celtic Manor Resort and the Welsh Government.

As part of its contract, Dudley’s engineers will install Kawneer AA110 capped curtain walling, which will include sloped roof glazing, as well as automatic sliding and manual entrance doors for the venue.

The centre, said to be the largest facility of its kind in Wales, will be situated at the Celtic Manor Resort, Newport and will include a 1,500 seat auditorium and a 2,400-capacity main exhibition hall that will be the largest pillar-free ballroom in Europe.

Dudley’s managing director Colin Shorney said: “Having worked closely at the Friars Walk retail centre, we appreciate how important projects like these are to the local economy, and look forward to starting at the site. In the last 36-months we have worked on a number of landmark projects in South Wales, including the BBC Cymru Wales HQ, CUBRIC and Friars Walk and we can’t wait to add the ICC Wales to our portfolio.”
